Miami Women's Panhellenic

It's been a minute since my last "letter from your president" ... so, I'm writing to check-in and to share a few updates as we approach busy times over the next few months.

In August, your MWP Board members got together to rehash our 2024-2025 programmed events ... the good, the bad, the ugly ... to gather feedback and plan an unforgettable 2025-2026 event program.  We also talked about additional "off program" happy hour gatherings and community service partnerships to build on. I'm truly excited about our 2025-2026 schedule of events including a fabulous welcome event, a visit to Fairchild Gardens plus annual traditions including game night, craft night and holiday luncheon as well as our Scholarship Luncheon to recognize amazing sorority women.  In the same meeting, we all agreed that we will support a new philanthropy called Circle of Sisterhood, a foundation that empowers sorority women to support education for girls and women facing poverty and oppression worldwide.

In the last few months, much of what the MWP Board members discussed has already been put into action:

(1) Shared a full schedule of planned events for the next 6-8 months to help with general calendar planning :-)

(2) Absolutely incredible welcome event, hosted by Liz Battaglia, bringing all of us together with food and fun.  I'm especially thankful that we welcomed a few new members at this event!!!  Our VP, Meredith Kunzke, shared more about our new philanthropy which was also added to the September Pannea as well as our website: Circle of Sisterhood

(3) Scarily fun Halloween game night, hosted by Wendy Christopher, filled with fun games and lots of yummy treats ... in addition to, of course, great conversations and lots of fun.

(4) Announced our first Celebration of Sisterhood happy hour to be hosted in the private room of Sports Grill (9090 SW 97th Avenue) on Wednesday, November 12th -- please RSVP to MWPMiami@gmail.com .

(5) Shared our holiday season service project, collecting the Christmas wishes of the children in the South Florida Foster and Adopted Parents Association -- donations can be brought to our happy hour event or ordered directly from the Amazon wishlist:Amazon.com.

(6) Reminded both UM and FIU panhellenic organizations about our scholarship opportunities.  WE ARE STILL IN SEARCH OF SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBERS -- IF INTERESTED, PLEASE CONTACT ALEXANDRA FLINN OR ELENA DEVILLIERS
